Bio
Angela Perley writes songs for restless hearts and open highways. Blending heartland rock, country soul, Bakersfield twang, psychedelia, and Americana, she's spent more than a decade carving out a sound that's as timeless as it is unmistakably her own.
Perley first made her mark as the frontwoman of Angela Perley and the Howlin' Moons, releasing five EPs and two full-length albums between 2010 and 2018. Those records built a loyal following on both sides of the Atlantic, with songs like "Electric Flame" becoming Midwestern radio favorites and the band's debut Hey Kid reaching No. 6 on the EuroAmericana Chart.
Her solo career has only widened that horizon. From the dreamy, introspective 4:30 to the road-tested swagger of Turn Me Loose, Perley has continued to refine a style that feels equally at home in an intimate club, on a festival stage, or opening for some of America's most celebrated songwriters. Along the way, she has shared stages with Willie Nelson, Lucinda Williams, Tyler Childers, CAAMP, Kaitlin Butts, Eilen Jewell, Jaime Wyatt, and appeared at Stagecoach Festival on Nikki Lane's Horseshoe Stage.
That camaraderie is captured not only in the studio but on the live albums Moonlight Audio Sessions and Live at Rumba Cafe, recordings that showcase the energy and spontaneity of the band onstage. Together, they've continued to expand Perley's catalog with singles including "Ghoul For You," "LA Cowgirl," "Pineview Inn," and the sun-soaked "Mid-Day Hallelujah," a joyful nod to the bright twang of Bakersfield country that celebrates choosing love out loud.
Whether she's writing about desert highways or the thrill of following your heart, Perley's songs are grounded in a deep sense of place. Critics have praised her timeless voice, vivid storytelling, and ability to bridge classic American influences with a sound that feels entirely her own. Honest, cinematic, and road-tested, Perley and her band are here for the long ride.
